Elliot Pemberton

Elliot Pemberton was born on August 4, 1832, in Lawrence County. His father, John Pemberton, came to this county from Kanawha County, Virginia, in 1822; he found this county an unbroken forest, there were no roads, nothing but cow-paths; the county was very thinly settled.

Albert Campbell

I.R. August 30, 1877 – Colorado Item – We have a copy of the Silver World published at Lake City, Colorado, on the date of August 11th. In it, we find the following item, which mentions an Irontonian: Albert Campbell, Frank Curtiss, J. Pancake, and D. C. Mason have struck last month located the Ten O’Clock lode, a 5-foot vein carrying 8 inches of pay, in which ruby silver shows in large quantities; it is believed to be one of the richest prospects in the district.

John B. Melvin

John B. Melvin was a farmer at Perry Township he was born in Lawrence County Ohio 17 Aug 1813 he was also married in this county on 8 Aug 1841 to Rhoda gore who is a native of this county born on 14 October 1822. his parents Jonathan and Nancy a broom Melvin were among The Pioneers of this county.
