Emanuel Moore was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on January 29, 1813. He is one of the pioneers of this county, being almost 70 years of age.
He has raised a family of sixteen children; his sobriety and industry make him one of the prominent citizens; he is a kind and faithful father and husband, courteous and hospitable to strangers, and is highly esteemed by all his neighbors.
Mr. Moore was married in Ohio, to Rachael, daughter of Michael J. and Martha Kirkbride, who was born in Washington County, Ohio, on December 20, 1823.

- Lucinda, May 15, 1845;
- Isaac, August 20, 1847;
- Aaron, May 15, 1855;
- Nancy, September 20, 1856;
- Noah, April 29, 1860;
- Rachael, March 20, 1864.
Aaron Moore, the father of Emanuel, died July 30, 1862; his mother, Hannah (Coon) Moore, died in March 1881, at the age of 84 years.
Mr. Moore is a farmer residing in Lawrence Township. His post office address is Rock Camp, Lawrence County, Ohio.
