John Murnahan

John Murnahan was born in Windsor Township, this county, on October 1, 1820, his parents being Edward and Mary (Clark) Murnahan. 

He was married in MasonTtownship to Mary A. King, on June 24, 1838.  She is a native of Nicholas County, Virginia, born December 1, 1820.  She is the daughter of Alexander and Nancy (Payne) King. 

The following children have been born to them: 

  • Elizabeth J., born July 3, 1840, resides in Windsor Township;
  • Nancy, April 4, 1842, resides in Rome Township;
  • Sarah A., June 16, 1844, resides in Lincoln County, Virginia;
  • John H., September 26, 1846, resides in Mason Township;
  • Mary S., January 24, 1850, resides in Douglass County, Illinois;
  • Missouri, August 1, 1853, resides in Lincoln County, Virginia;
  • America, September 19, 1856, resides in Rome;
  • Sophronia, December 28, 1858, died May 6, 1881;
  • George, on January 1, 1862, resides in Mason Township. 

All the children are married with one exception.  Elizabeth is married to John P. Kingrey; Nancy to Samuel Null; Sarah to William S. Sargeant; John H. to Matilda Sharp; Mary S. to Joseph M. Depriest; Missouri to B. C. Sargeant; America to Wilson Lewis. 

Mr. Murnahan is a resident of Mason Township, and he is engaged in farming.  Address Suiter, Lawrence County, Ohio.
