Editor’s Note
This index is a finding aid rather than a transcription of the wills themselves. The apparent typographical error “Wiliam” in the Meistedt entry on page 504 has been corrected to “William.” Other names, initials, abbreviations, page references, and the original entry order have been preserved.
Repeated names with different page references have been retained: John Bysel (pages 199 and 208), A. W. Hurt (pages 48 and 122), and Thomas J. Murdock (pages 193 and 198). John C. Russell (page 76) and John C. Russel (page 81) retain their different surname spellings. The index alone does not establish whether these entries concern the same person or what each record contains.
John Phillips’s page reference is given as “385-424.” This unusually broad range overlaps other entries and should be checked against the original book; it has not been altered. Other page ranges have also been retained as supplied.
The entries are broadly grouped by surname initial but are not strictly alphabetical within each group. Their original order has been retained.
