Last Will and Testament of William COCHRAN

Be it Remembered, That at County, held at the Courthouse in Ironton on the 24th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight and sixty-three before the Hon C. B. EGERTON sole Judge of said Court was produced in open Court an instrument of writing _____ to be the last Will and testament of William COCHRAN deceased which reads in the words and figures following to wit:
In the name of the Benevolent Father of all, I, William COCHRAN of Ironton in the County of Lawrence and State of Ohio, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make and publish this my last will and testament as follows, 1st I give and devise to my dear Mother Eleanor COCHRAN all my property, Real and Personal of whatever kind of nature of which I _____ _____, to her own use and benefit, with the understanding that she is to raise and support three of my children, to wit: David, Elanor and Laura Ann, and I hereby nominate and appoint my said mother Guardian of said David, Elanor and Laura Ann, my children aforesaid.
2nd I hereby give to my friend John KELLY my daughter Clara, to be by him adopted and cared for as though she was his own.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and Signed and acknowledged by said William COCHRAN as his

last will and testament in our presence and signed by us in his presence, T J LANGSHORE, J Q JAYNES
And on the same day came John Quincy JAYNES and Thomas J. LANGSHORE, and testified to the due execution of said Will, which testimony was reduced to writing and reads in the words and figures following _____.

On the 24th day of September AD 1864, personally appeared in open Court before me C B EGERTON Judge of the Court of Probate within and for said County and State. John Quincy JAYNES and Thomas J. LANGSHORE of said County, both of lawful age who by me being first duly sworn according to law, make oath and say that they are subscribing witnesses to the instrument of writing hereto attached and purporting to be the last Will and Testament of William COCHRAN late of said Lawrence County, deceased that said testator signed instrument of writing in presence of these deponents, as, and by him acknowledged to be his last Will and Testament, and that the same instrument of writing was signed by these deponents as witnesses, in presence of the said testator and at his request, and in the presence of each other, and that the said testator at the time of executing said will be of full age, and of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint.

Sworn to and subscribed before me by the said John Quincy JAYNES and Thomas J. LANGSHORE this 24th day of September AD 1863.

And afterward, on the twenty-fourth day of September AD 1863, there is a Journal entry in this matter which reads in the words and figures following to wit. In the matter of the last Will and Testament of William COCHRAN, desces [sic]
will admitted to probate.
Be it remembered that on this 24th day September AD 1863, an instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of William COCHRAN, late of Lawrence County deceased, was produced in Court by George W. WILLARD Esq. for probate, and thereupon came John Quincy JAYNES and Thomas J. LANGSHORE, the subscribing witnesses thereto, and testified to the due execution thereof as the last will and testament of said William COCHRAN deceased: which testimony was reduced to writing and filed with the said Will and it appearing to the Court by said testimony that said will was duly attested and executed, and that the said testator at the time of executing the same was of sound mind and memory and of full age and under no restraint. It is therefore ordered that said will, together with this order and the testimony aforesaid, be recorded in the Record of Wills.
