On a hill back of Carpenter Creek and from the Carpenter Cemetery, I continued up the same point, traveling Westward-crossed a line fence running north (toward where Ingalls place was) and South about 200 yards above the Carpenter Cemetery and continued until after crossing another old line fence finning North and South (I presume these were 40 Acre lots the fences around them) and came to a pine thicket on top of the ridge.
The pine thicket covered about one acre of ground. I passed through a thicket and came upon ground covered with honeysuckle and looking about. I saw the stones of the Thompson Cemetery. The cemetery was about 15 steps by 20 steps-a rectangles. Three rows of graves. Space for about 12 graves in a row. It was enclosed in a fence, broken down several places, and covered with undergrowth, briars, and honeysuckle.
As laid out here (there was a drawing of 3 rows of graves with 12 graves in each row), the oldest graves would be the top row beginning with 12, 11, 10, 9, etc. Only grave #7 in the first row is marked-sunken places and/or stones showing where othere were or space for other graves. The same goes for the other rows not otherwise indicated.
