I, John P. Eaton, in view of the uncertainty of life, do make this my last will and testament.
On file in Lawrence Co., Ohio Will Book # 3, p. 272:
Item 1
This my will that my farming operation is carried on by my sons L. D. and J. P. Eaton as hither to by my self ??? that they L. D and J. P. Eaton retain one half not? of which they pay for all labor required to carry on the farming operation. The other half is to be turned
over to Julia A. Eaton, my wife, for the ??? of the family. They L. D. and J. P. Eaton to keep the premises in good repair and in a high state of cultivation the Estate furnishing Eatons? ???
Item 2nd
All the heirs in the ??? holding to the Estate except two of which belong to L. D. and J. P. Eaton all stock raised in the farm hereafter to be divided same as farm products except ??? they L. D. and J. P. Eaton paying five dollars cash at weaning? times to Mrs. Julia A. Eaton. The sheep on the farm, one half belongs to the estate, the other half to L. D., J. P., and Wm. A. Eaton to be kept as his ??? This instrument is to be ??? in effect until the youngest child becomes of age, then to be equally divided.
Item 3rd
It is my will that my son Wm. O. Eaton shall in addition to common school, have the benefit of a select school ??? ???goes in the next 2-3 years. Also, to have the privilege of cultivating 10 acres of land for his benefit.
It is my will that Lucinda Arbaugh ??? as one of the family as here before. It is my will that L. D. and J. P. Eaton act as my executors. LaBelle, O. June 18 or 19, 1886.
