Lawrence County, Commons Pleas Court
(Journals 1-4) October Term, 1837
In the name of God, Amen, I, Isaac Delong of the State of Ohio, Lawrence county and Elizabeth township, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God, for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following (that is to say).
First of all, I commend my soul to God, who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian manner at the discretion of my executors herein after named and as to my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of in the following manner, to wit:
1. I give and devise unto my beloved wife, Hannah Delong, my whole estate, both real and personal of whatsoever name or nature it may be to make use of and dispose of as she may think proper as long as she may live and remain a widow.
I also nominate, constitute and appoint my friend Christian F. Wallbright and my wife Hannah Delong to be my executor + executrix of this my will and testament, and after the death of my beloved wife Hannah Delong, I want all my estate that may then remain to be sold to the best advantage at the discretion of the above named Christian F. Wallbright my executor and first pay all lawful charges and demands, with the proceeds of the sales and the residue to divide equally amongst the following beloved children, to wit:
- Rachel Crawford,
- Elizabeth Wining,
- Anne Yeats,
- Edmund Delong,
- Jesse Delong,
- Francis Delong,
- Deborah Gillilan,
- Elijah Delong,
- Jemima Howe and as to the remaining children not named above namely
- Polly Shannon, and
- Katharine Yealn, that are dead, and
- Isaac Delong Jr., who is living,
I want them not to have any share whatever hereby revoking all other wills, legacies, and bequeaths by me heretofore made and declaring this and no, other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven.
Signed, sealed, published, and declared by the above-named Issac Delong to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have unto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator.

The last will and testament of Isaac Delong, late of aforesaid county deceased, was this day brought before the court and was proved by the oath of Frederick Bartles, one of the witnesses thereto that the said Isaac Delong at the time of executing said will was of full age and of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint and that he subscribed said will in the presence of said testator and also saw him sign said will all which appear to the satisfaction of the court as it regards the one witness aforesaid which said proof is ordered to be docketed and is hereby as above set forth. The said will is continued for further proof.
