Haircuts At Premium During Flood

Haircuts were at a premium during the flood. Most barber shops were located in the business section, under eight to twelve feet of water. After about a week of being denied the luxury of a barber shop, menfolks generally resembled inhabitants of the stone age, so far as facial appearance was concerned.

When shops were finally opened, business was so great the lines formed on both the right and the left.
