Proctorville, Ohio, Was Destroyed by Fire Los Angeles Herald, 8 April 1900
Proctorville, Ohio, April 7.—The large flouring mill of G. D. Pugh burned today. This conflagration resulted in a fire that destroyed half the village, clearing two squares of residences and business houses. But two stores were left. The loss is estimated at nearly $200,000, with only 50 percent insurance. Twelve residences were destroyed. The fire department of Huntington, W. Va., rendered help. No casualties are reported.

Huntington, WV, April 7 – Proctorville, [Ohio] is almost totally destroyed by fire, which started at 9 o’clock this morning. More than forty buildings have been burned. Fire engines were sent from here.
