Whitman Accused of Copper Still

Whitman Accused of Having Still – 2 Nov. 1921

Holly Whitman, proprietor of a soft drink establishment on Chillicothe street, near Eleventh, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon on a charge of violating the prohibition laws after state prohibition enforcement officers raided his home and uncovered, they say, a 2-gallon copper still and some liquor in a search made of his home.

Whitman was taken before Squire McManes and he was later released from custody on a $1000 bond pending a hearing on Nov. 4.[1]
