Owner Tosses Still Out of Car and Makes His Getaway – 12 March 1921
Marshall Frank Hall, of New Boston, “captured” a still Friday afternoon, but the owner made his getaway. Marshall Hall was at the mayor’s office in New Boston when he received a telephone call that there was a still under a laprob? in the rear seat of an automobile standing at Gallia and Harrisonville avenue.
Marshall Hall climbed into his Buick machine and when he reached the said corner the still and machine had just left on its way toward Sciotoville. Marshall Hall gave chase to the big touring car and near Star Yards the man in the lead slowed down and tossed out the still onto the side of the road. He then turned on full speed and made his getaway. Marshall Hall followed the fast-traveling car as far as Sciotoville.
The still picked up by the officer on his way back proved to be an up-to-the-Minnie copper still of about 12-gallon capacity and is the most complete yet taken by the village officers.[1]
