Comment from Carl Adkins: When I attended eighth grade at Coal Grove, the new high school (just a few years old??? It must have been built the same time as Deering) was still using the gym at the intermediate school.

In later years when I was at Ironton High, they finally built a combination gym/auditorium. I often wondered why it was Dawson-Bryant, but the high school never lost the name Coal Grove—guess some things are forever!!!

Whatever happened to Nina? I remember her when she came with Bill when he was courting Junie!!! I surely had some good times at the Wallers!!! I was there when Jess Brammer’s crew constructed the lake on John Waller’s property. I love reminiscing!!!

So the school district has always been Dawson Bryant but just referred to it as Coal Grove. Coal Grove had never been and still isn’t the name of any of the schools even in 2022
