Depredations are reported on Pine Creek in Lawrence County, similar to those we reported in Valley Township last week. Men who cannot get the labor to buy meat are stealing it. The jails of the country are being rapidly filled. Crime is on the increase. Furnaces are suspended. Coehogs? are being abandoned. Merchants and tradesmen are making assignments all over the country, and winter is coming. We are getting down to the hard pan. Those who voted for the money and power will feel the pinching times. They are coming. They are now upon us.
