Reuben Davisson

Reuben Davisson was born in Lawrence County, Ohio, on June 30, 1819.  His parents, Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Kelley) Davisson, were among the pioneers of this county, having settled here in 1800.

The first wife of Mr. Davisson was Cynthia E. Wood, who died November 22, 1866; she was the mother of the following children: 

  • Henrietta, born October 10, 1847, died December 22, 1849;
  • Charles W., May 30, 1849, resides in Aid;
  • Mary A., January 31, 1851, resides in Aid;
  • Bermadell C., December 27, 1854, died October 18, 1855;
  • Edward T., January 29, 1858, resides in Aid;
  • Jacob D., September 18, 1859, resides in Aid;
  • Parnell, August 5, 1862, died January 19, 1866;
  • Rufus, June 20, 1866, died January 18, 1867. 

The second wife of Mr. Davisson is Isadore Powell, who is a native of this county, born January 5, 1844; their marriage took place in Aid, December 24, 1879. They have two children, viz: 

  • Cecie, born October 11, 1880;
  • Elizabeth C., January 5, 1882.  

The parents of Mrs. Davisson are Decatur and Catherine (Kelley) Powell, settlers of this county in 1880.  Mr. Davisson has been a county commissioner for nine years, and township trustee for four years.  Mr. Davisson came to Marion in 1846, where he is at present engaged in merchandising.  His address is Aid, Lawrence County, Ohio.
