Oliver P. Stewart

Oliver P. Stewart was born in Symmes township, Lawrence County, Ohio, on January 22, 1834.  His parents, settlers of this county in 1820, are John C. and Sarah (McCartney) Stewart.  Oliver Stewart was married in this township on February 4, 1864, to Elizabeth A. Barnhouse, who is a native of Scioto County, born October 26, 1845. 

Their children are as follows: 

  • William T., born September 19, 1864, resides in Symmes township;
  • Florence L., June 18, 1866, resides in Symmes township;
  • Lorena F., on September 25, 1868, resides in Symmes township. 

The parents of Mrs. Stewart are Joseph and Susan (Bennett) Barnhouse.  Mr. Stewart held the very responsible office of township treasurer from 1879 up to the present date, 1882.  He is engaged in farming in Symmes township.  His post office address is Waterloo, Lawrence County, Ohio.
