Lemuel Moore was born in Noble County, Ohio, and came to this county in 1862. His parents, Emanuel and Rachael (Kirkbride) Moore came to Lawrence County the same year.
Lemuel was a soldier in the war of 1861; he enlisted July 1, 1863, in Company K, 1st Virginia Volunteer Infantry; he served to the close of the war, when he was honorably discharged, and returned home.
He was married in Lawrence County, on March 29, 1866, to Martha Fields, who is a native of this county. Her parents, Crabtree and Belinda (Belcher) Fields came to this county in 1805.
The children of Mr. and Mrs. Moore are
- Calvin T., born January 30, 1867;
- Hugh C., May 25, 1871;
- Eda M., February 17, 1875;
- Rosetta, July 7, 1877;
- Roxy D., August 6, 1880.
Mr. Moore is by occupation a carpenter, makes all kinds of cabinetwork, coffins, etc., and is a resident of Lawrence Township, Address, Rock Camp, Lawrence County, Ohio.
