Ironton Register, Thursday, January 4, 1894 – Bond of J. C. Russell, Probate Judge, approved.

Ironton Register, October 25, 1894 – With their wives, Judge Russell and Treasurer Clay left Tuesday for a Cincinnati outing.

Ironton Register, October 10, 1895 – Judge Russell will send Martha Turvey to the Deaf and Dumb asylum next week.

Ironton Register, October 11, 1900 – Probate Judge Russell has been notified that William Bell, a man sent to the Athens asylum from the Proctorville neighborhood, had deserted the institution.  Bell is the man who lost his mind on the subject of electricity, and at times his mania assumed ___ form.

Ironton Register, August 8, 1901 – Last Monday, Probate Judge J. C. Russell closed a deal whereby he secured the Garvey property on South Fifth street above Chestnut adjoining the corner lot recently purchased by Fred McConn.  The property has a frontage of 95 feet and is adorned with a handsome residence.  The consideration was $2650.

IWR JAN. 2, 1897 – The Star Building & Loan Association held its annual meeting Tuesday evening and elected the following officers:  Directors W. A. Murdock, Dr. Lester Keller, D. C. Davies, F. L. McCauley, Andrew Abele, J. C. Russell, T. C. Edwards; Attorney, R. B. Miller; Secretary K. A. Miller; Treasurer, Matt A. Cloran.  The association will declare a 10 percent annual dividend at the next meeting.
