John Sampson

John Sampson and Caroline Fowler were married in Gallia County, Ohio, in 1844.  He was born in this county, on December 9, 1821, and his wife was born in Gallia county, on October 1, 1820.  His parents are Valentine and Nancy Sampson.

Elijah and Jane Fowler are the parents of Mrs. Sampson.  Mr. Sampson was a soldier in the Union army during the war of 1861, serving eight months.

His children are

  • Harriett was born in 1845;
  • Jane, in 1847;
  • Emelie, in 1850;
  • Amanda, in 1856;
  • John T., in 1858; and
  • Effie C, in 1864.

Mr. Sampson is a farmer, a resident of Mason township.  His post office address is Greasy Ridge, Lawrence County, Ohio.
