John H. Stewart and Ruth Griffith were married in Symmes township on March 31, 1859. They are both natives of this township. He was born June 1, 1839, and she April 15, 1835.

- Sallie, March 20, 1871; W. Harlen, May 24, 1874;
- Ermina, March 16, 1876; Linnie R., June 9, 1878.
The parents of Mr. Stewart came to this county in 1820. Their names are John C. and Sallie (McCartney) Stewart. The former died on March 17, 1870. Frederick and Ruth (Osborn) Griffith are the parents of Mrs. Stewart. Mr. Stewart is engaged in farming in Symmes township. His post office address is Sherritts, Lawrence County, Ohio.
