George Harmon was born on April 10, 1825, and came to this county in 1839. His parents came the same year; their names are Thomas and Sarah (Green) Harmon.
George was married on January 22, 1845, to Louisa Snyder, who was born September 12, 1826; she is the daughter of John H. and Mary (Elsessor) Snyder, settlers of this county in 1825.
The children of George Harmon are:
• Mary, born December 21, 1846.
• John, June 4, 1849.
• Sarah, January 26, 1853.
• Jane, October 19, 1854.
• Margaret, February 16, 1856.
• Andrew, June 25, 1859.
• Louisa, November 25, 1863
They all reside in this township. Mr. Harmon died in 1863, and the entire control of the farm rests on his son, Andrew, and the large crops attest to the manner in which it is done.
