E. T. Belcher was born near Willow-Wood P.O., Lawrence County, on December 13, 1867. He received his education in the public schools of Ironton and afterward was engaged as a traveling salesman.

Edgar T. Belcher was born near Willow-Wood P.O., Lawrence County, Ohio, on December 13, 1867. He received his education in the public schools of Ironton and afterward was engaged as a traveling salesman with Wm. Kerr & Co., and later, in 1894, became a member of the firm of Bester, Snyder & Belcher.

 Mr. Belcher was elected to the office of Clerk of Courts of Lawrence County and his term of office begins August 9, 1897. He is a very prominent and popular young Republican, receiving in his election the largest majority of any candidate on his ticket.

NOTE: Edgar was married to Ada Gertrude Parker in 1904 and they had three children: Thomas, William, and John Belcher. John died on 18 March 1913 and is buried next to his wife in Woodland Cemetery.-mm
