Christian Fox

Christian Fox is a native of this county, born in Elizabeth Township, on December 19, 1841. His parents are John Fox, who was born in Pennsylvania, July 23, 1813, and Elizabeth (Ward) Fox, who was born in Virginia, October 11, 1817, and died on June 15, 1874. They were married in this county. He came here in 1833.

On December 30, 1869, Christian Fox was married to Sarah A. Martin, who was born at Laurel Furnace in the year 1854. Her parents are Joseph and Nancy (Palmer) Martin, the former who died April 15, 1879, age 66 years.

The children of Mr. Fox are:

• Willard B., born August 8, 1872.
• Earnest A., January 9, 1874.
• Edward P., October 15, 1875.
• Orville F., January 17, 1878.
• Olive B., November 3, 1879, died February 3, 1881.
• Nellie A., April 19, 1882.

All reside at home. Mr. Fox, his father, and one brother were in the rebellion; Christian enlisted on July 25, 1861, and was discharged for disabilities. His father and brother, John were both wounded. They enlisted in October 1861, and August 1862, respectively. Mr. Fox is engaged in farming in Elizabeth township. His address is Powellsville, Scioto County, Ohio.
