Andrew Morrison came to this county when a mere child, with his parents, from Greenbrier County, Virginia, where he was born. The year of their arrival was 1820. His father, Richard Morrison, was a farmer by occupation, and he raised his sons as tillers of the soil, which Andrew has always followed.
Schools were very scarce, being supported by subscription, subsequently, his education was rather limited. Getaway was the locality in which Mr. Morrison settled. Andrew was married to Elizabeth Brammer in this township, on March 6, 1850.
Their children are
- Rebecca, born April 1852, died the same year;
- Roxy, December 1854, died in 1858;
- James R., April 20, 1855, resides in Union Township, Lawrence County;
- William T., on July 1, 1857, resides in Louisiana.
Mrs. Morrison died in April 1879. She was a life-long member of the Symmes’ Creek Baptist church. Her parents were James and Sarah (Simmons) Brammer, both of whom are deceased.
Mr. Morrison’s parents were Richard and Mary (Brindle) Morrison, both deceased. The date of Mr. Morrison’s birth was July 29, 1820. His post office address is Russel’s Place, Lawrence County, Ohio.
