The Index of Wills for Books 1 - 14 was abstracted from the original volumes in the Lawrence County, Ohio, courthouse between 1847 and 1941—alphabetical Order in PDF format. You can also search this file using the shortcut key "Ctrl + F" within the PDF document. Hold down the Ctrl button and press the F button. This will bring up a search bar. This makes it easier for the researcher to find a name without going through every ledger. You can see the actual wills for 1847-1883 at familysearch.org. Contact the Probate Court at Ironton, Ohio's courthouse, for later dates.
TIP: Don't give up if you cannot find a name in these indexes. They might be listed in the Lawrence County, Ohio Court of Common Pleas Complete Records and Journals.
