Robert Adams, aged 64, filed a certificate with Lawrence County Ohio Court of Common Pleas on 9 August 1820. He has sworn he was a resident of Lawrence County and did declare he served two years in the Revolutionary War in Capt. Matthew Jewett’s Company in the 7th VA Regiment was honorably discharged as Polly George in February 1778.
He remembers Jewett having been wounded in the Battle of Brandywine and finally died of his wounds…
Robert Adams further swears that he was a resident of the US on 18 March 1818..(he goes on to list his personal property and the amount he owes)

Robert Adams further swears that he is a common laborer by occupation and that his family consists of an aged wife with rheumatysm (sic) and a granddaughter of eleven years of age (neither of which is named-mm).
