Henry Anderson

Henry Anderson, 76, filed a certificate with Lawrence County Ohio Court of Common Pleas on 9 August 1820. He swore that he was a Lawrence County resident and declared he served three years in the Revolutionary War in Col. James Wood in the Brigade commanded by General Scott in the VA line.

He states he has made a former declaration but cannot ascertain the debt and has secured a pention (sic) and certificate number 15128. He swears he was a resident citizen of the US on 18 March 1818….

He is a farmer by profession and is greatly troubled with asthma, a disease he contracted at the Battle of Monmouth through age, and cannot labor for support. He has only a wife who is 71 years of age, and both he and his wife are unable to labor for support, have been dependent on his pention (sic) and on the bounty of friends for a long time for support and does not, therefore, make a schedule of property.

Signed Henry Anderson his mark
