War Veteran Weds Girl of Seventeen

War Veteran Weds Girl of Seventeen – Romance Where Old Man Claims Beauty for Bride – His Ways are Winning – Huntington, Dec. 9 – Gideon Bragg, seventy-one, a veteran of the Union Army and a pensioner, and Miss Mary Cook, seventeen, the beautiful daughter of Mrs. Alemeda Cook of Proctorville, were married Friday evening.

The union of December and April was the occasion of great demonstration in Proctorville, the youth of the village turning out in force with tin pans, tin cans, bells, and first one thing and then another to compel the groom to treat.

Mr. Bragg is a resident of Quaker Bottom and is said to be amply able to provide for his youthful bride and her mother.

While he is old, his ways are youthful, and the young girl found them more winning than those of numerous ardent young swains who have fain led her to the altar.
