Valentine and Mary Fear Petition to Sell Land

Lawrence County, Ohio Deed book 9 page 42 dated 6 Nov. 1839.

In terms of genealogical research, this is a fantastic record because it has the names of the relatives of Valentine and Mary Fear. This deed was filed as a petition to sell the land after Valentine Fear died against his widow, Mary Fear.

After referring to the deed for further research, it looks like the Sheriff of Scioto County, Ohio, ordered the land to be sold for Union Furnace. This property was located in both Lawrence, and  Scioto County, Ohio.  David Sinton and Thomas Means were iron masters in Lawrence County, Ohio, and purchased the property from the Sheriff. Much more research into this deed would help discover who the persons are and their connection to Valentine Fear.
