Stephen Ballard 32-1-18-E ½ SE to
John Ballard 25 6 May 59
Know all men by these presents that we, Stephen Ballard and Mariah C. Ballard, Wife of said Stephen Ballard, in consideration of the sum of twenty-five dollars in hand paid by John Ballard, do hereby remise release and forever quitclaim unto the said John Ballard, his heirs and assigns all our title interest and estate legal and equitable in the following premises forever with appurtenances situate in the county of Lawrence in the State of Ohio bounded and described as follows to wit: The east half of the southeast quarter of section number thirty-two township number one range number eighteen.
In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 6th day of May A.D. 1859.

Before me, William Layne. a Justice of the peace in and for said county, personally appears the above-named Stephen Ballard and Mariah, his wife, and acknowledge the signing and sealing of the above deed to be their voluntary act and deed and the said Mariah C. being at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her husband and the contents of the said instrument made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith this 6th day of May A.D. 1859.
