Deed: James Ballard to John Ballard 27 Feb.1858

John Ballard                                                     25 27     H   58                              

Know all men by these presents that we, James Ballard and Sarah Ballard, wife of the said James Ballard, in consideration of the sum of twenty-five dollars in hand paid by John Ballard, hereby remise release and forever quitclaim  unto the said John Ballard, his heirs, and assigns all our title interest and estate legal and equitable in the following premises forever with the appurtenances to situate in the County of  Lawrence and the State of Ohio and bounded and described as follows to wit: The east half o the southwest quarter of section no thirty-two in Township one of range eighteen  in the district of lands Subject to Sale at Chillicothe Ohio, containing seventy-nine and twenty-six hundredths acres;

In testimony whereof we have hereunto _ our hands and seals this 2nd day of February AD 1858. Executed in the presents of:

Before me, William Layne, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, personally appeared the above-named James Ballard and also Sarah, his wife, and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above conveyance who their voluntary act and deed and the said Sarah being at the same time examined by me separate and apart  from her said husband and the contents of said Deed made known to her by me She then declares that she did
voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith this 27th day of February AD 1858.
