This is a Tom Thumb wedding from the early 1900s in Ironton. Organizations staged these as fundraisers. Children portrayed the wedding party, usually ten or younger. The First United Methodist Church of Ironton sponsored this one. My grandmother Edna Keiser Dudley is the first person on the left. The groom is Ellis Markin, and the bride is Ruth Stroup Mittendorf. My wife and her sister were in a Tom Thumb wedding in 1949 in Coryville . Her sister was the bride and my wife was one of the flower girls. I have the picture if I could figure out how to post it. Joe.
