    KG,

You are correct in the missing names!! Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention!

After reviewing my files vs the website I found the missing surnames you mentioned. Somehow, while creating this part of the 1860 census index those names were inadvertently left out, due to my human error.

I have fixed the index, and you can find those missing names here: https://lawrencecountyohio.com/census/1860-census-index-mace-mctwigg/

Again, I am very grateful to you for leaving a comment about my mistake. In my 20+ years of keeping The Lawrence Register online, my biggest concern is publishing incorrect material. Please check the corrected index and, accept my apology for an honest mistake.

It’s difficult to believe that there was noone recorded on the 1860 census of Lawrence County, Ohio, with a surname that began with Mc or Mac, etc. Especially since Ancestry.com lists numerous people who were recorded on the 1860 census of Lawrence County, Ohio, with surnames that begin with Mc or Mac, etc. Surnames such as McDaniel, McCarley, etc., etc., etc., yet there are zero individuals with any surnames like that recorded on this – apparently – incomplete Index. Particularly on the letter M listed above here.
