This page is for the heroes that served in the Vietnam War. My brother, Stephen H. Martin was one of those heroes. I remember the feeling of him leaving, never knowing if we would see him again. My mother prayed for many hours which turned into days, then months. Thankfully her prayers were answered when ten months later we met him on the tarmac at the Tr-State Airport in Huntington, WV. This page is for him and all the others that served in Vietnam War.

Donald R. Long Medal of Honor
Sgt. Donald R. Long was serving as an assistant platoon leader in the 1st Infantry Division when his unit was attacked by a heavily supported Vietcong regiment. He inspired his comrades by repeatedly exposing himself to enemy fire while assisting the wounded and by fearlessly standing unprotected to repel the attacker with rifle fire and grenade.
