 Suffocated in a Chest

Ironton, O-Aug 21-This afternoon George Hamilton and wife went visiting, leaving their three children, aged 8, 4 and 2 years respectively, at home. Upon returning some time afterwards, the children were missing. After a lengthy search, they were found confined in an old tool-chest, where they had died from suffocation. A stick fastened in the staple of the chest indicates murder. The mother is almost insane from grief. The whole town is wild with excitement. No clue to the murderess.

Ogden Standard Examiner (UT) Aug. 22, 1891
