Passes Away.
Clinton Gillett Died Sunday Morning from
Paralysis

Ironton Register, April 13, 1905
Clinton Gillett, one of Proctorville's oldest and best known
citizens, died at 9 o'clock Sunday morning from the effects of a
stroke of paralysis, which he sustained some time ago. Mr. Gillett
was 78 years of age last October and was the son of Sidney and
Christine Gillett. His first wife was Ellen Prichard Gillett, from
which union three children were born, all of whom are now dead.
His second wife, Nannie Suiter Gillett, and granddaughter, Miss
Mabel Marks, survives him.
Mr. Gillett was a carpenter by trade and had followed this
occupation for years, having built many of the houses of
Proctorville and surrounding territory. He was a good citizen, a
kind neighbor and was loved and respected by the whole community.
The funeral occurred from the residence last Monday, conducted by
Rev. H.B. Cooper. Interment following at the Rome Cemetery.
