Train Victim Here Year Ago For Reunion
Killed When Automobile Was Hit By Train
Exactly one year after having attended a reunion
of the family in this city Carl H. Doerr, 46 of Forth Worth Texas,
was killed Sunday afternoon eight miles from his home when an
inbound Texas & Pacific passenger train struck the car in which he
was riding. Two other men were killed at the same time. They were
Leo Darmstadt, 52 and Fred Olman, 22. It was Olman's car in which
they were riding.
According to information received here by H. C. Doerr, 1545 south
Fourth street, father of the train victim and Mrs. H. H. Keys, a
sister, the car in which the trio were riding was dragged 500 feet
along the track and the men thrown from it. Doerr a painter and
decorator and Darmstadt, a tailor, died almost instantly from
internal injuries while Olman, also a painter and decorator,
sustained a broken neck.
Arrangements have been made to have a joint services for Mr. Doerr
and Darmstedt, both of whom were high in the state organization of
the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the former being past state
president. The rites will be under the directions of the Eagles.
The Doerr family had made arrangements to drive to this city on a
vacation this summer. Surviving Mr. Doerr are his wife and two
daughters Miss Margaret Doerr of Fort Worth and Mrs. J. T.
Klosterhause; HC Doerr, the father and five sister: Mrs. C. H.
Beam, Mrs. Charles Ruggles of Ashland, Ky. Mrs. H. H. Keys, Mrs.
Edward Rambacher and Mrs. Harry Weise.

Mr. Henry C. Doerr of this city received the sad
news Sunday of the death of his only son Carl H. Doerr, who was
killed in a train accident at Fort Worth, Texas, yesterday. The
victim of the accident was born and raised in this city. He left
Ironton about 21 years ago. No particulars of his accidental death
was given in the telegram.
He leaves to morn his loss a wife, and two daughter of Fort Worth,
and five sister in addition to his father. The sister are Mrs.
Katie Beam and Mrs. Rossetta Ruggles of Ashland, Ky. Mrs. Mary
Weise of Chicago, Mrs. Emma Rambacher and Mrs. Clara Keys of this
city.
