A Young Lady's Desperate Deed Because of Her
Betrayal
A Suicide by Eating the Poisoned Ends of Matches
Standard Special-SF Chronicle Service
Ironton, O., July 10-Lucinda Jackson, a
beautiful girl of nineteen and daughter of wealthy parents,
committed suicide early this morning in a curious manner. The young
woman procured a box of matches, taking them to her room; she ate
the poisonous ends and died in great agony at about 5 o'clock,
despite the efforts of the physicians to revive her. The parents of
the young girl are heartbroken over the sad affair. The father is
threatening vengeance on a young
Chicago
man, who is suspected of being the cause of the young victim’s
desperate deed.
