DIES OF SUFFOCATION

John Paul Crocker, 3 months old,
Smothered by Pillow In Crib
John Paul CROCKER, 3 mo. old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Crocker of
the Pea Ridge Road, died of suffocation yesterday afternoon at 2:30
o’clock at his home. It was reported by Dr. P.X. SCHULLER, county
coroner.
Dr. Schuller said the baby boy died in his carriage in which he was
sleeping. He said a pillow had been placed above his head and that in
some manner the child’s face fell into the pillow.
Mr. Crocker is an employee of the International Nickel Co. plant
here. The family came here four years ago from Boston.
Surviving the baby boy, in addition to the parents, is a brother
Carl G. Crocker 11.

Seward G. GRIFFITH.. ..sixty nine
years old, formerly of Huntington, who died Thursday at his home in
Charleston, will be buried this afternoon at about 3 o’clock in Spring
Hill cemetery following funeral services at noon today at the Baptist
temple in Charleston.
Charles N. ROTEN...nine months old,
son of Mr. and Mrs. James Roten, of 1821 Railroad Ave. who died
Thursday at his home after a brief illness, will be buried this
afternoon at the cemetery at Ball chapel after funeral services there
this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with the Rev. William LAMBERT
officiating.
Mrs. Mayme L. HOWELL ...fifty
six years old who died Thursday at her home 1676 Loulton Ave., will be
buried tomorrow afternoon in Spring Hill cemetery following funeral
services at 2:30 o’clock at the South Side Methodist Episcopal church
with the Rev. J.H. CARSON and the Rev. E. J. HELLER officiating.
Mrs. Clara B. WILLIS...seventy
six years old, resident of Greenup, Ky. for the last fifty years, who
died at her home there Thursday afternoon, will be buried this
afternoon in Ashland cemetery, following funeral services at 2 o’clock
at the Greenup Christian church.
Mrs. Zina HOSKINSON...twenty one
years old who died Thursday afternoon at her home on Barboursville
R.F.D. #3 after a brief illness, will be buried this afternoon at a
cemetery at Buffalo creek following funeral services at 1 o’clock
there. Surviving are her husband Perry Hoskinson and two children.
W.R. BILBEE ...seventy three years old,
of 1444 Harlan St. Ashland, Ky died at his home there last night at
7:30 o’clock. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.
Surviving are two sons: K.B. Bilbee and C.P. Bilbee, both of
Ashland, and two daughters Mrs. Frank RO?S, and Mrs. D. J. MUSER, both
of Ashland.
John W. McDONALD Jr....twenty six
years old, formerly of Huntington, who died Wednesday at Chicago after
a long illness, will be buried this afternoon in Spring Hill cemetery.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 9 o’clock at St. Joseph
Catholic church and again this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of
an ???? R.A. BANG of 943 eighth avenue.
Mrs. Elizabeth MEADOWS...eighty
two years old, who died Thursday afternoon at her home in Ashton after
an illness of two weeks, will be buried this morning in an Ashton
cemetery, following funeral services at 10 o’clock at the Palestine
Baptist church. Surviving are a son, ?st???? Meadows of Roanoke, Va.,
two daughters Mrs. ???? STURGEON, of Huntington and Miss Vashil
Meadows of South Charleston, and a brother Thomas W????? of Sunberry,
Ohio
Earl M. WALLACE...twenty seven years
old, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Wallace, of 78 Rutland Ave, who died
Monday in New York after a brief illness, will be buried ???day
morning at Grayson, Ky. after funeral services this evening at 7
o’clock at the parents home. Surviving, in addition to the parents,
are the widow Mrs. Inez Wallace, five brothers: ?????., George Jr.,
Jessie, Charles and Elmer Wallace, all of Huntington, two sisters: Eva
and Betty Wallace, at home.
W.C. BENTINE...sixty five years old of
1809 Prospect avenue of Ashland, Ky., an employee of the Armco plant
there, died at his home yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, following
an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held tomorrow
afternoon at 2 o’clock at the John STEEN funeral home in Ashland. The
place of burial had not been announced last night. Surviving are the
widow Mrs. Anna Bentine, four sons; Edward, Guy, Richard and John
Bentine, all of Ashland, and a daughter Miss Anna Bentine of Ashland.
John W. CLINGER...sixty eight years
old of 2104 Winchester avenue Ashland, Ky., who died of a heart attack
at his home there Thursday, will be buried tomorrow at noon in a
cemetery at Maysville, Ky. following funeral services which will be
held at 7 o’clock tonight at the Lasear funeral home in Ashland with
the Rev. J. W. HAGEL officiating. The body will be taken from Ashland
tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock for the trip to Maysville. Mr. Clinger
was well known in Ashland. He was affiliated with several fraternal
organizations. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ida Clinger, two sons
Harry M. Clinger of California and Arthur C. Clinger of Akron, Ohio, a
brother Charles Clinger of Ashland and six sisters.

PASSED AWAY
Mrs. Andy WALKER received word Saturday that her sister-in-law
Mrs. John MAUCK had died at her home in
Putnam county Va., her death being due to an affliction of the brain.
She leaves a husband and six children to mourn her death.
Mrs. Mauck was a former resident of this city and has a host of
friends here who will regret to learn of her demise.
Mr. and Mrs. Walker will leave today for the stricken home as will
also Barbara and Leo ZITELSBERGER niece and nephew of the deceased.
Mrs. James FULTZ of Marion Ohio ,wife of ex policeman Fultz of this
city and step daughter of the deceased has been visiting here for the
past two weeks.
James PIERCE, also of Marion is a stepson. Two unusual features of
Mr. Ratcliff’s career is that he was never sick until his final
illness and resided in the same house for eighteen years.
The funeral will take place Friday afternoon at two o’clock from
Sugar Creek church with burial in the cemetery there.
