John Raine, an old citizen of Ironton, died last Thursday. He was born
at Stanhope, County of Durham, England, Sept. 11, 1815. Came to
America in 1843, settling at Nelsonville, Athens Co., Ohio; removed to
Rome, in this county in 1851 and to Ironton in 1852. He died of
asthma.

years. The son of J. V. Robinson, Sr. He was among the first of our
citizens to respond to his country's call, and immediately upon
offering his services, was appointed by Gov. Dennison as Major of the
