NANCE, Mary Jane       I.R. FEB. 3, 1919
Mary Jane Nance, daughter of John and Becka Ann Artis, was born at Flat Woods, Ky., July 5, 1859. With her parents she moved to Lawrence county when she was but 2 years of age. She died Jan. 24, 1919, being 69y 6m 19d. She was united in marriage to Wm. Nance, Nov. 29, 1876. To this union were born nine children. Those preceding her in death were James, Tona, Ella and Robert L., the latter preceding her in death only 2 months and 20 days ago. Those living are Mrs. Lillie Leffingwell, Fowler, Ind., Mrs. Leota Jenkins, Kitts Hill, O., Chas. T. and Wilson M., of Cherryville, O., and Wilburn C. at home. Besides the immediate members of her family she leaves to mourn one granddaughter, Mae, who was raised from infancy, 15 other grandchildren, one brother, Henry Artis, Ironton, three sisters, Mrs. Luvera Blankenship, Arkansas; Mrs. Rebecca Brammer, Hamilton, Mrs. Louisa Hunt, Pedro.

NEAL, Walter, Mrs. ,Sr.       Nov 9, 1882
Died last week in Arabia.

NEECE, Catherine, Mrs.       I.R. DEC. 24, 1903
The funeral of Mrs. Catherine Neece, who died at the county infirmary, on Thursday, was held at that institution. She was 71 years of age. Had been inmate there 4 years, committed from Elizabeth township.

NEWTON, W. S. , Dr.       Nov 23, 1882
Died at his home in Gallipolis, OH Nov 18, 1881. Formerly of Ironton about 1855-1863 when he went in the war as surgeon of the 91st OVI. 60yrs old.

NOLTE, Unknown       I.R. May 20, 1880
Daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Luther Nolte on May 13 1880.

O'CONNER, John       I.R. Mar 6, 1879
Died Saturday, March 1, John, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. O'Conner, aged about one year, of lung fever.

O'HERN, James       Nov 30, 1882
Died Nov 25, 1882. 59yrs old.

ORTH, William       Jan 4, 1883
Died at Texas hollow. 21yrs old.

ORTHMEYER, Fred, Mrs.       SWR Feb. 27, 1912
The last rites over Mrs. Fred Orthmeyer at Pine Grove Meth. Church Friday. Interment at Hanging Rock cemetery. Mrs. Orthmeyer before her marriage was Miss Rebecca Rosebrough and was born in Kentucky, May 29th, 1859, died Feb. 20th, 1912, being 52y 9m 1d. She was united in marriage to Fred Orthmeyer, Dec. 7th, 1880 to this union five children were born, John and Jonas of Portsmouth, Frank of Pedro, Elizabeth of Ironton and Fred at home. A husband, four children, two brothers and two sisters are left to mourn.

PAUL, M. D.       SWR Sept 11, 1919
A prominent citizen passed away Monday night at 10:30.... Moses D. Paul was born Oct. 13, 1836 at Aberdeen, Brown Co, OH. His father was Hosea Paul, of Maine and his mother was Nancy Jane Carter of Cartersville, Queens Co, VA. He was the youngest of four brothers, all of whom lived to be older than he was.....At the outbreak of the Civil War, M.D. Paul enlisted Apr 17, 1861 in Capt. John A. Black's Co. G, OH Valley Inf. for three months and discharged at Cols. Jul 1, 1861....He came to Ironton, 46 yrs ago....Burial Woodland Cem.

Died last Friday of kidney disease. 45yrs old. Buried Woodland.

PEEBLES, Nancy Findley, Mrs.       Oct 27, 1881
Died yesterday in Cincinnati. Wife of J. Scott Peebles of Belfont Iront & Nail Works. Born 2 Sep 1820 in West Union Adams Co, OH. Father Col. John Lodwick.

PERKINS, Emily, Mrs.       I.R. Apr 3, 1862
Died at Oconomowac, Wisconsin, March 14, Mrs. Emily Perkins, aged 66 years, wife of Dr. E. B. Perkins, late of Marietta, Ohio.

POWELL, Unknown       I.R. May 6, 1880
A daughter born April 22, 1880 to Mr. & Mrs. John Powell of Waterloo.

POWERS, George       I.R. Jan. 30, 1879
Died at Burlington, Jan. 21, George Powers, aged 27 years 4 months.

PRICE, Margaret       Feb 19, 1880
Wife of Richard Price, died Feb 13, 1880 of consumption at home.

PRITCHARD, Unknown       Nov 25, 1880
A son born last week to Mr. & Mrs. Sam Pritchard of Ironton. 10#.

PUSEY, C. D.       Dec 14, 1882
Died Dec 6, 1882 after years of suffering from a fall of a bank on him while digging clay for bricks. He leaves a wife and child.
