Lillian Irene, the little daughter of Mr & Mrs. Willard Palmer, of
Hecla Street, died at 10 o'clock Friday night, aged 4 months and 15
days. Death due to summer complaint.

Reuben Palmer died at his home on North 6th street, Friday evening,
due to consumption. The dec'd was born in Lawrence Co., October 17,
1845. When 16 years of age he enlisted in Co. G., Twenty-second
Kentucky Infantry and served with that company in the civil war until
March 16, 1864. He was at the capture of Vicksburg and Jackson, Miss.,
and served through the Red River campaign. Near the close of the war,
after the 3 years service he enlisted in Co. C., 7th KY Veteran Inf.,
and while with this command lost an arm in battle. He leaves a wife
and two children - Mrs. Joseph Smith and Herbert Palmer, both of this
city. Burial at Woodland.

Place, died last night. Survived by the husband, Aaron Pancake, two

Huntington, a son, William C. Pancake of Honolulu, H.I.; three
sisters, Mrs. W. J. Roberts of Huntington, and Mrs. Maggie Ramsey of
Midkiff; two brothers, Taylor Morrison and Ziegler Morrison of Ironton
and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Anna Peters was born at Adelphia, Ohio on Nov. 10, 1846. She was
married to Ptolmey Peters on June 17, 1874. She died Aug. 25, 1895 age
46y9m15d. She died at Lawrence Fce. And was buried at Woodland
cemetery. Anna Peters was the daughter of John and Julia A. Dillon and
was born in Ross Co., Ohio Nov. 10, 1846. She was married and came to
this county in 1874.

burned - Peters family formerly resided in this city - Grandmother at

Georgia Peters was the 5 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H.
Peters and granddaughter of Mrs. John Peter's of Coal Grove, Ohio. . .
They have two other daughters, older than Georgia.

Eldest son of the late Isaac and Adaline Peters, of this city, marks
the passing of one of the pioneers of this section. Death occurred
Tuesday at his home in Ronceverte, W. Va. H. W. Peters was born at
Haverhill, March 17, 1848; and was 66 years of age. He married Miss
Mary Pell Wurtz of Wurtland, Ky. They moved to Greenup, where he
resided for a time. For the past 6 years he has been the
superintendent of the Armour Co. station at Ronceverte, WV. He is
survived by one son, Samuel Wurtz Peters and Mrs. Samuel Wurtz Peters,
seven grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. H. R.
Browne, Miss Mary C. Peters, Mrs. Thomas Lewis, Mrs. Emma Davies,
Thomas M. Peters of this city, Mrs. Oscar Ellison and Cam. S. Peters,
of Macomb, Ill., Mrs. F. B. Lawton of Los Angeles, Calif. . . from the

Died at his home on Park Avenue, January 7, 1892, in the 35th year of
his life, . . . internal disease for which there was no cure. He was
the youngest of six brothers, sons of John and Mrs. Mary C. Peters.
Mr. John Peters is well known as one of the pioneer iron makers. Mrs.
Peters was the daughter of William and Zier Duduit. Mr. D. was a
native of Paris, of the company of French colonists, that imigrated to
the "French Grant" in 1790; her mother was a daughter of Andrew
LaCroix, also of the French colonists. (obit. just says he had a wife
and children) Burial at Woodland.

Killed at Martin's Ferry, Ohio, Saturday, remains were taken to the
home of Mrs. Peterson's sister, Mrs. Williams of Park Avenue. Buried
in a single casket at Woodland. Mrs. Peterson and her four children
were out walking at the time of the accident. The bolt of lightening
came killing the mother and youngest child, who was in a baby
carriage.. . . Marion Peterson is a son of Israel Peterson of South
10th St., this city, and is a coal miner. His wife, Mrs. Libbie
Peterson, was a daughter of J. C. Smith of LaGrange, this county.
Their child was 16 months old and a bright little girl.

Another Accident - A Mr. George Pettit, was killed in an Ore Bank,
near Cross Roads, in Jackson county on September 26. He leaves a wife
and family living near Franklin Furnace.

The following notice of the death of a former citizen of Ironton was
taken from the Columbus Dispatch of June 4th: Mr. David Phillips died
at his home, No. 193 Jefferson avenue, at 1:40 this morning. He had
been ill for nearly 5 months with kidney and bladder affliction. The
surviving family are the widow and two daughters, Miss Louise M.
Phillips, the Principal of the Mound Street School, and Miss Dida
Phillips. Mr. Phillips was born at Coal Brook, South Wales, very
nearly seventy years ago. His early boyhood was spent in France, and
he came to America when he was twelve years old. The family came to
this city (Columbus) from Ironton eighteen years ago. Mr. Phillips was
an iron worker by trade and he came here as Superintendent in the
Hayden rolling mill. He was manager of the Lawrence Mill in Ironton
for many years.

WILL PROBATED - The will of John Phillips has been filed for probate
and with the exception of Lot No. 39, upon which the Phillips Buggy
Works plant is located which is left to his son, Frank "because he
stayed with me and assisted and has been a great value to me in my
business," the testator leaves all his property to his wife to dispose
of as she deems best. At her death, should any property or money
remain, it is to be divided between the four sons share and share
alike. The will was dated April 21, 1910.

Waverly during the reunion last week. He seemed to know everybody, and
everyboyd seemed to be glad to see John.

Last Saturday morning, Davey Price, an old resident of Ironton, was
found dead by the side of his bed. He had been on a continuous spree
for a long time, ..very much intoxicated… His age was over 60. He was
born in Wales, and came to this country over 40 years ago, settling at
Pittsburg, where he had lost one of his eyes in a rolling mill. He
came to Ironton over 30 years ago, and worked here in the mills nearly

was buried at Woodland, Friday. She was the widow of the late John
Pritchard, for many years the inside manager of Lawrence mill, and the
