SUCCESSOR TO THE LATE J.G.M BARNES

James E. Ellison, general manager of the Layton Sugar company, and interested in other business enterprises, was named president of the Utah Associated Industries to succeed the late John G.M. Barnes at a meeting of the board of directors held today at the Alta Club.

C.T. Keigley, manager of the Columbia Steel company at Ironton, was appointed a member of the board of directors to replace W.R. Phibbs, formerly manager of the steel company.

Mr. Ellison announced that it will be his purpose to carry out the 'wise and sane policy of my departed predecessor, Mr. Barnes, who has made a lasting impression upon industrial Utah ."
