 Judge Noah J. Dever – Common Pleas Judge 1886 – 1894

Ironton Register, Thursday, October 4, 1877 – Death of wife.

Mrs. Lydia R. (Austin) Dever, of Portsmouth, formerly of Ironton, died of typhoid fever at her home last Friday.  The remains were brought to her parent’s residence, C. K. and Susan Austin, Ironton.  Married about a year ago to Noah J. Dever, Esq., an excellent gentleman and an industrious and intelligent lawyer of Portsmouth.  Her parents lost a son and two daughters within a very few years.

Ironton Register, March 26, 1891 – Judge Dever held court half a day Monday and then adjourned until next Monday.  This motion for a new trial for Day was not argued.

Ironton Register, June 18, 1891 – A resolution recommending Judge Dever for renomination was unanimously passed.

Ironton Register, June 25, 1891 – Judge Dever was renominated for Common Pleas Judge at Portsmouth this Wednesday morning.  We are all for that.  Judge Dever is entitled to it.

Ironton Register, November 28, 1895– Judge Dever has appointed D. B. Mauck and A. J. Trumbo to examine the County Commissioner’s Report.  These are most excellent selections.
