Ellen is retired and has been doing genealogy for eleven years. She thoroughly enjoys helping other fellow genealogists find their families, and it reflects in her work. She does research mainly in Lawrence Co., OH, but occasionally will travel to Scioto Co., OH, if needed.
She has been doing research for others for nine years with no negative feedback and has had many repeat customers during that time. Some of the money she receives for researching is donated back into the local library's genealogy departments and The Lawrence Register.
She has volunteered and completed many jobs for The Lawrence Register; the latest was completing the 1930 census index for Lawrence County, OH.
Her charges are very reasonable. One lookup is only $7.00. For other research, she charges a $25.00 minimum (or $30.00 minimum for Scioto Co. research) which includes two hours’ research and up to five copies of census pages, birth or death records (1868 to 1938), marriage records, cemetery records, obits, etc. Gasoline costs, postage, and travel time are included. Wills may cost a little more, as they can sometimes be several pages.
