QUERY!!

I am looking for information regarding John W. Summers, his wife Martha Summers, and their daughter Theressa Summers.  They lived in Washington Township, Lawrence County, Ohio in the late 1800"s.  I know John was born about 1846 and Martha died February 12, 1889 and is buried in Olive Cemetery.  Theressa, my grandmother, married Grove White and lived in Lancaster, Ohio.  I would appreciate any information.  Thank you.

NEW!  Please help me find William Isitt!

I am trying to trace a distant relative named William Isitt, who was born in Pembrokeshire, Wales in 1815 and emigrated to the U.S., arriving in New York in April 1842 on the "Sheridan". I have a copy of a letter that he wrote to his brother and sister in Wales on July 17th 1848. His address at that time was Hanging Rock, Lawrence County, Ohio.

Other than this letter, and the record of his arrival in New York, I have been able to find absolutely no record of William Isitt in the U.S.

I am wondering if you have any ideas, or if you can suggest someone who could undertake some paid research for me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards

About the Personal Genealogical Work of the Late Robert Willis

*These files were the personal genealogical work of Robert Willis, such as letters and notes of his findings.  His family was the Willis, but there were more names associated such as Sites, Pigman, Buttrick, Boothe, Massie, Langdon, etc.

When Mr. Willis passed away, his wife donated all his genealogical material to Briggs Library, in Ironton, Ohio.  I remember when I went to pick the donation up from Mrs. Willis' house, the collection consumed my entire back seat, floorboard, and up to the windows of my four-door Chevy Caprice.  In addition, I stacked material in the front seat next to me! That stack went from the ceiling to floorboard!

I  personally asked Mrs. Willis for permission to put these files online and she said, "yes, whatever will help people the most.

Without Omar Griffith, who donated months of her time, to type each letter, notebook, and every piece of paper that was included in this huge donation, we would not have this material to share with you.

I am delighted that I was a part of this wonderful addition to the descendants of Lawrence County, Ohio.  If you have any questions, please email me.
